Imco Recycling asked IDG to transform an existing, hard edge lobby into a warm, transitional space.  Utilizing a custom area rug, classically detailed furniture, art and accessories the designers softened the space.

International Plaza - Office Building Upgrade - 
International Plaza Building, built in the early 1980’s was in need of an update. Among the areas to be addressed were the curved common area corridors, non-compliant toilet rooms, the cafeteria, an auditorium, training rooms and lobby waiting areas.  Throughout the facility, Interior Design Group created environments which enhanced the classical modern lines of the architecture.

Infosphere - 
Infosphere, a young software development company, leased space in an existing corporate headquarters building. The floor plan had originally been designed for open plan workstations. IDG was tasked with redesigning the space incorporating two-person offices with a network of connecting corridors. The designers elected to reuse the original shoji screens, reinventing them with multi¬colored glass. Carpet graphics added color and aided in way-finding through the repetitive though rhythmic floor plan.

Pratt & Whitney DARO - Museum Design


Pratt & Whitney asked Interior Design Group to carve out a customer orientation museum within their high bay factory/production area.  A ceiling cloud of metal mesh added visual intimacy to the new function, while a perforated aluminum display system bounded the designated area.
SCM Real Estate Offices - 
Interior Design Group was asked by SCM Real Estate to help brand their new offices in the historic Vandergriff Building in downtown Arlington.  A former automobile dealership, the designer’s utilized vintage Chevrolet hubcaps, framed with cable rods, for wall art.  In addition, perforated metal frames accented period photos and advertisements. IDG selected  signature furniture pieces to make a strong graphic statement, utilizing the SCM’s trademark red in the upholsteries and carpet tiles.

State National Insurance Companies hired Interior Design Group to add personality and branding to their new building addition.  The designers, utilizing a soft palette of accent colors, designed graphic walls to enliven the environment.  One super sized graphic in a large atrium space symbolized the rapid growth of the company.  Acrylic panels and fabric sails served to soften and add whimsey to the otherwise unadorned space.  An existing kitchen/break room was transformed with new finishes, lighting, custom banquettes and furnishings.  Working with an art consultant, IDG selected prints and sculpture to enhance the interior space.

Stratoflex Products Division



Stratoflex, an aerospace contractor, decided that their mid-century lobby did not reflect their leading edge product line.  On a modest budget, Interior Design Group modernized the lobby, utilizing angled porcelain tile pavers and tonal metallic painted walls, dominated by a large scale mural. The designers sorted through the client’s seconds parts bin - couplings and navigational hoses - created abstract art to embellish the walls and tell their product story.

ASC Industries, an aerospace parts distributer, hired IDG to update their aging office building.  The designers brightened the two-story lobby, replacing the dark, tired wood tambour with cream colored Venetian plaster.  A circular, custom chandelier and a ring of wall sconces added sparkle to the space.  A rich green area rug mirrored the circular reception desk, surrounded by planks of cherry flooring.  The project included the ADA upgrade of the toilets, space planning of new open office and new finishes.

ATI Automotive Career Training Center.  Upon the sussessful completion of the ATI Career Training Center, the designers were commissioned to work on the company's new automotive school.  Using stained plywood wainscoting, polished concrete floors and bright semi-gloss paint colors, IDG created an exciting learning environment for the technicians.  Even the work benches were painted bright red to match the exposed ductwork.

ATI Career Training Center.  A former Montgomery Ward building was converted into a new career training school.  ATI tasked Interior Design Group to rethink their typically bland, uninspiring finish palette.  Using primarily paint and vinyl compostition tile, the designers created a lively and stimulating environment for the students.  IDG created a warm colored wing and a cool colored wing to add visualize interest, while aiding in way-finding.

Brookhaven Community College Student Cafeteria.
Brookhaven Community College employed Interior design Group to reinvent an outdated and underutilized student cafeteria, “The Tree House”. The college requested that the designers create an internet café, open to, but segregated visually from, the rest of the dining room.  To reinforce the tree house theme, IDG dressed three large circular columns with polycarbonate and laminate panels to symbolize the vertical thrust of trees. The canopy of these “trees” was echoed in the circular floor graphic beneath, which also served to define the space into three gathering areas.

Arlington Orthopedic Associates combined seven offices into a new 40,000 SF corporate headquarters' building.  IDG performed comprehensive interior design services, including millwork design, custom signage, finish selections, furniture, artwork and interior plant specifications.

Tarrant County Public Health Facility - 
In 2003, Interior Design Group was invited to join the team headed by FSB Texas to design a new public health facility for Tarrant County. 
Among the program requirements, the commissioners tasked the designers to devise a method of directing the public through the 80,000 SF building.  Colorful diagonal patterns cut into the linoleum flooring functioned as both way-finding devices and “floor art”.

University of Texas at Arlington - Ransom Hall Renovation 

Interior Design Group teamed with the University of Texas at Arlington’s in-house architect to renovate Ransom Hall, the oldest building on campus.  The designers were tasked with creating a welcome center for incoming freshmen, housing specialty services catering specifically to the new students.  Brightly colored pendants defined a computer work area, while graphic floor treatments, art glass and vibrant paint colors served to attract the youthful clientele

Abilene Regional Medical Center Emergency Department - 
Interior Design Group teamed with Ascension Group Architects to provide a new Emergency Department addition for Abilene Regional Medical Center. The designers created an emotionally uplifting space with economical and easily maintained materials.  A cool palette of blues and greens helped calm the frenzied atmosphere, typical of an ED.  Strong floor graphics added visual interest while aiding the patients to navigate their way through the space.

Dr. Angela Bowers commissioned Interior Design Group to space plan and design a new dermatology office with a large retail and medical spa.  The designers were tasked with addressing the functionality of the clinical portion of the space with two surgery suites and multiple exam rooms. The retail and spa areas required minimalist detailing with upscale finishes and furnishings.  The earthy color palette mirrored the feelings of the woodsy exterior site.

Dr. Steven and Jerri Pedro's Office

An established dermatologist and his wife, a child counselor, joined forces to build a new facility.  Texas Hill Country architecture dictated the use of a warm and earthy palette.  With divergent clientele, the counseling suite was saturated with bright, happy colors and a whimsical custom wallcovering.
USPI Surgicare Short Term Stay Hospital

Interior Design Group teamed with Ascension Group Architects to remodel and convert an existing Surgicare center into a short-stay hospital.  IDG echoed the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired building exterior in the design details, including the floor graphics, the reception desk and the nurse’s stations.  Warm, bright colors and rich wood tones were utilized to humanize the patient

Daired's Salon & Spa - Skyline
Daired Ogle commissioned Interior Design Group to invent a fresh, clean new look for his second salon/medical spa location in North Arlington. The designers employed dimensional, stylized floral wall panels, graphic botanical wall-coverings and mesh draperies to impart an exotic and open feel to the space. Sculpture furniture elements, art and accessories were selected to compliment the newly branded salon.

Daired's Salon & Spa asked IDG to revitalize the reception and retail area of their South Arlington location.  The design team redesigned and centralized the cash wrap.  Echoing the footprint of the desk, IDG suspended a cloud with seasonally changeable banners.  Brightly colored custom fixtures framed the much expanded retail product.  By incorporating the client's logo into a large wall graphic, the designers branded the space, while visually lowering the two-storied space.

Salontro Salon & Spa - 
IDG provided space planning for an upstart salon and spa in an upscale suburb of Fort Worth.  The program called for two diverse spaces:  The salon side with stained concrete, bright colors and hard edge design.  The spa side required quiet serenity and relaxing hues.  A floor plan radiated like the spiral of a chambered nautilus, disguising the long and narrow rectangular space.  Ceiling clouds, cylindrical pilasters and segmented retail walls served to reinforce the curvilinear theme.

Lake Charles Airport
After hurricane Katrina destroyed the Lake Charles Airport in 2007, Jacobs Carter & Burgess was hired to design a replacement facility.  Interior Design Group was invited to team with the architects.  Instead of duplicating the standard modern state-of-the-art airport, the client asked the designers to interject a Louisiana theme.  The ubiquitous state flower, the Iris, was incorporated into the relief wall panels.  Iconic lanterns replaced fluorescent troffers and classical motifs were integrated into the terrazzo flooring. IESI Recycling Center, IESI hired Nader Design Group to plan their new McKinney facility.  An integral part of this building was  a sustainable training center, showcasing the beautiful design possibilities of sustainable building materials.  Interior Design Group created display walls with MDF and cabinets sporting recycled laminate counter tops and stained strand board cabinet fronts.  Two artful pendants, made of repurposed soda bottles, added sparkle to the display.

Minimally Invasive Spine Clinic - 
Minimally Invasive Spine Clinic purchased an existing physician office building to modify into their new home.  The physician group directed the designers to retain as many walls as possible, while creating a simple, modern and upscale space.  A soft palette, with warm wood finishes, curvilinear architectural elements contributed to the desired calming, “Zen” environment.
Camille's Ice Cream Shop - 

A “wall of happy” commands attention as one enters Camille’s Ice Cream Shop in Corpus Christie.  IDG created the graphic display with the ability to update the photo collage readily.  The owners plan on incorporating photos of their customers and family members as the new venture expands with additional stores.  Ones resistance is completely destroyed by a giant scaled model of an ice cream bar, dripping with chocolate and covered with nuts.

The Arlington Orthopedic Mansfield Physical Therapy area was an appendage of the physician office portion of the building. IDG repeated many of the design elements of the medical office area, using the like materials and forms.  Once again, a combination of angled shaped spaces was unified by design consistencies carried throughout the facility.
Pratt & Whitney DARO - Lobby Renovation An outdated lobby did not reflect the leading edge image of a twenty-first century aerospace engine company. Interior Design Group was hired to update and expand the lobby. Utilizing the division’s logo on the edge-lit back painted glass wall and product display niches, IDG successfully branded the space. The metallic porcelain tile reflects the fuselage of an aircraft while the overhanging channel glass creates a vertical thrust, emulating flight and space.
