METROCON13 Expo & Conference will take place at Dallas Market Hall [2200 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas] on Thursday, August 15 & Friday, August 16, 2013. This year marks the 11th year of the show and the 9th year that the Texas Chapter of ASID has joined the Texas-Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA [International Interior Design Association] in a volunteer alliance to bring cutting-edge industry information to their members and beyond.
METROCON will again be held in conjunction with the ASID Texas Chapter’s Legacy of Design Awards Celebration / Annual Meeting, which will take place the evening of Wednesday, August 14.
What will you find at METROCON13? For one, a diverse array of 250+ Exhibitors in 400 booths, containing the latest and greatest in cutting-edge products and services related to the corporate, healthcare, hospitality, institutional, multifamily, residential, and retail design fields.
GET NOTICED
If you cater to interior designers, METROCON13 is the place to be. A significant benefit of ASID Industry Partner membership is reduced convention pricing. Exhibitor registration opens online April 1 at 8am, at which time a 10’x10’ booth can be purchased for the reduced fee of $475. Green Zone booth upgrades are available at $100 per booth (while available), Premium booth upgrades are available at $150 per booth (while available) and Super Premium upgrades at $250 per booth (while available).
Please note that booth sales officially close on June 21, but if your company wants to secure its presence at the show, then do not procrastinate. Last year booths sold out 16 days before the official close, and 18 vendors were put on the waiting list.
A note to the Industry Partners out there who offer residential products and services: Residentially-focused designers want you there! Every year they ask why more of you are not present – especially those from beyond the DFW area who want to do some “one-stop shopping” while they are in the Metroplex. Think about it: There is a “Wow Factor” when you run across something new and unexpected at a tradeshow. Our members are always looking for new sources, and when you are not there along with other vendors, you are not on their radar.
Understand that a great deal of residentially-focused designers attend METROCON every year, and they desperately want you to participate, so plan on being at the 2013 show! Visit the METROCON Exhibitors page to find more information and to purchase your booths.
GET SMART
Along with the outstanding trade show, METROCON13 offers attendees continuing education classes on topics ranging from sustainability and energy efficiency to communicating with clients and making the most out of your design career.
For attendees, ASID & IIDA is again offering its members* affordable continuing education. Any member of the two organizations can attend the two-day tradeshow free of charge with only a $50 flat fee to take any amount of continuing education. Again this year the tradeshow and continuing education registration is online on the METROCON Attendees page.
Continuing education courses will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so sign up quickly. Online pre-registration will open May 31 at 8am and will close at 6pm on August 2. On-site registration for the tradeshow will, of course, be available during METROCON13. An additional charge of $10.00 will apply to on-site registration. Note: If classes sell out online during pre-registration, class openings may be available on-site due to registrant no-shows, but they cannot be guaranteed.
*IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MEMBERSHIP:
To qualify as a Member and receive discounted tradeshow and/or continuing education pricing, Attendees must be in good standing – i.e., not suspended for non-payment – in the official ASID database or in the official IIDA database ON MAY 1, 2013. If not in either one of these official databases on this date, then the Attendee will not qualify as a Member and will need to pay the non-member pricing.
GET INVOLVED
A team of tremendous volunteers from the Texas Chapter of ASID and the Texas / Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA will execute METROCON13, and income from the event goes back to the chapters to fund special educational and recognition programs, as well as scholarships and charities earmarked by the individual organizations.
